History
The year was 1945, World War II was over and two childhood friends,
Paul M. De Angelis, Sr. and Russell (Hugh) McGrorty decided to go into the restaurant business. Purchasing an old custard drive-in in Muskego, Wisconsin was just the beginning. As business flourished, the partners brain stormed as how to increase their already successful business -
Pizza-Burger was born!
De Angelis painstakingly spent hours perfecting the unique mixture of herbs and spices to achieve the high-quality spice we enjoy today. The partners franchised their ever-popular sandwich all across the United States and parts of Canada. In 1953 the Pizza-Burger became, and remains to this day, a national trademark.
The restaurant is now history, but the Pizza-Burger lives on in the franchised restaurants throughout the United States.
